Unconditional love

The true meaning of love, as defined in the Bible, has been corrupted in common usage of the English language and in society. Love is usually confused with infatuation, the feeling of ‘being high’ which one gets when they first ‘fall in love’.
This kind of feeling is something that does not last long, and unless it’s replaced by true love, the relationship eventually breaks up.
“People get into relationships out of desperation, fear, doubt, deceit, selfishness, and such relationships result in hurt and bitterness. However an abundance of unconditional love is able to heal and restore lives,” said a pastor who conducts Love Therapy meetings at the Cenacle of the Holy Spirit in Johannesburg.
Lerato, 25, said: “Normally we ask ourselves a number of questions such as who is the right person, how will I know if he/she is the one, will we connect, will we have everything in common? Such questions play in our minds over and over again. We even question God about the right time. However the Bible says that when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. John 16.13′”
The Therapy of Love is a service for all those who want to build a strong foundation for their love life. These services are aimed to help all those, married and single, who want to strengthen their relationships, find the right partners, and those who want to overcome disappointments.
The meetings take place every Saturday at 6pm.
Sipho attended these services because he wanted to have a family of his own and his previous relationships failed. “In one of the services I attended the pastor quoted the scripture ‘two are better than one’ and he explained the importance of having a partner with the same faith as yours. I later met Morwa in these meetings,” he said.
Sipho said that as they became close friends he saw the qualities of a virtuous woman in her and he proposed marriage.
After dating for one year, Sipho and Morwa were married at the Therapy of Love meeting last month.
Morwa said that these meetings taught her to love and trust again.
Everybody who seeks God’s guidance in their love life is welcome to join these meetings. Singles will learn more about how to please God first, how to look for the right partner as well as to be faithful, while married people are taught how to build trust and respect as well as how to keep the love growing even after many years.
