A Muslim’s Conversion

My name is Dallia and I was born in Algeria to a very religious Muslim family. My father is the Co-imam (an assistant Muslim priest) of a mosque.

At the age of 13, I began wearing the veil and wore it until I was 33 years old.
At the age of 17, I moved to France to live with my family.
At the age of 19, I married a very religious Syrian man. He thought that I should worship the ground he walked on and demanded total submission.
My husband beat me regularly. One time, he hit me so hard that I began bleeding profusely from a gaping head wound. My children were terrified. My oldest son called the doctor for help, but my husband locked me in a room. I was only able to be taken to the hospital after the doctor requested police intervention.
He tried killing twice after I found out that he had cheated on me, which was reason enough to file for divorce.
He took three of my four children to Damascus, Syria. I contacted “SOS Battered Women” and asked for police assistance but because the divorce hadn’t been finalized, they weren’t able to interfere.
Through an evangelization, I was introduced to the Bible, the Word of God, which taught that women should be loved and respected.
I finally felt free and decided to surrender my life to God.
Unfortunately, my family disowned me due to my conversion. Both of my sisters, who also live in France, don’t allow me in their homes because I’m considered to be "impure". They can only speak to me from the doorway.
I can’t use my family name if I ever decide to go back to Algeria, Syria or any other Muslim country because I would be faced with some serious repercussions.
I know people who were burned or had their tongues cut off because of their faith.
Since I became a member of the UCKG in Marseille, I have achieved many blessings through the chains of prayer, the sacrifices and the Campaign of Israel:
Health: I was healed of chronic headaches and my son, who suffered with migraines since the age of seven, was also healed.
Family: my other son was delivered from a drug addiction.
Also, my divorce was finalized after a 10 year battle.
During this last campaign of the Daniel Fast, I was determined to receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I did everything in my power to come to church as much as possible.
It was as though God was showing me everything I needed to put behind me...
One night, I woke up around 3:30am, feeling amazingly peaceful, like I had never felt before and I knew I had to forgive my family for everything they’d done to me since I was a child.
Afterwards, I fell asleep determined to stay away from everything that might distract me from receiving the Holy Spirit.
To officially start my new life with God, I decided to get baptized in the water.
As of Sunday, April 17th, I'm a brand new person.
I have peace, faith, strength and the courage to live.
I have the Holy Spirit. Oh, what a day!
