An English pastor named George Thomas, came to Church one day carrying an empty birdcage.
He carefully set it on the pulpit and began to speak.
"I was walking through town yesterday, when I saw a boy carrying this birdcage. Inside the cage, there was a little bird, shivering with cold and fear. I asked:
- What are you going to do with that bird?
To which the boy replied:
- I'm going to take him home, pull out some of his feathers and then burn it! I'm going to have a real good time with him!
Baffled by the boy’s hate towards the helpless little bird, I managed to ask:
- How much do you want for that bird?
- Oh ... You don’t want this bird ... He replied.
- This bird is worthless, it’s good-for-nothing!
- It's ugly!
After insisting a bit more, I was able to dissuade the boy from his evil intentions and bought the bird for twenty dollars. Once I had the poor bird in my possession, I set it free as soon as the boy turned his back ..."
Likewise, the Lord Jesus paid the price by shedding His blood, so that whoever believes in Him shall be set free. You can either be set free right now or continue in the devil’s hands.
What will you choose?
