Are you ready for marriage?

A wedding ring on someone's finger symbolizes his commitment to someone else for the rest of his life. The Ark of the Covenant symbolized the pact between God and the people of Israel. It was esteemed by God's chosen people, as an eternal trophy. Inside were three elements: the two tablets of the covenant (the Word), Aaron's rod that budded (discipline) and the dish that held the manna (our daily bread in the desert). The Ark was the holiest object on earth; it represented God. It was during Israel's dispersion that the Ark disappeared.
The coming of the Son of God marked the beginning of a new era: that of the New Covenant. Before, the pact with God was restricted only to the Jewish people. The Lord Jesus' life, death and resurrection established a new covenant, this time, with all the other nations-with all those who believe.
However, a pact with God cannot be made by simply accepting or believing in the Son of God. A pact with God should be taken as seriously as marriage, where both parties commit themselves to one another on the altar. The upkeep of marriage depends on a couple's daily sacrifices. If one of them fails, their union runs the risk of being dissolved.
With God, it's no different. He has already sacrificed Himself and He keeps His Word of honor. Yet He demands from those who believe in Him the sacrifice of obedience. Although God shows no partiality towards people, He does not accept to be second best in anyone's life.
"If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me" (Matthew 16:24). And He warns us, saying, "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me" (Matthew 10:38).
On the other hand, from the moment you make a pact with God, you become the ark of covenant itself in this world.
That's awesome!
Be blessed in the name of the Lord.
